Step 1: Written CVs (+ Intercultural Competence)
Input materials:
- 3 example CVs, grids for noting down differences: Module 1-Task 1-Activity 3 → step 1 of Worksheet
Procedure:
IN CLASS
- T presents 3 examples of CVs (1 free engineering CV, 1 EUROPASS, 1 company template) (Module 1-Task 1-Activity 3, p.2-6)
- T-led discussion of field-specific and intercultural features (e.g. picture, date of birth)
- In pairs or ind., Ss identify the differences and similarities between CV1 and CV2
(Module 1-Task 1-Activity 3, p.1) - Ss analyse the company template and identify differences between writing a CV and filling in a template in pairs or ind. (Module 1-Task 1-Activity 3 p.1)
- T-led discussion of the findings.

Step 2: Online profiles (homework)
Input materials:
- Article on guidelines for online profiles

Procedure:
OUT-OF-CLASS
- Ss study guidelines for creating online professional summary profiles (LinkedIn)
- Ss search for relevant existing profiles, choose 3
- Ss comment on pos./neg. features of these 3 profiles
(upload links + comments on platform) - Ss create or improve their own profile based on guidelines/findings

Step 3: Video CVs
Input materials:

(if you feel the video is too fast for your students, include instructions on how to reduce playback speed in YouTube – see Appendix) - Worksheet with link, features and listening comprehension questions:

Procedure:
IN CLASS
- Ss are told that they will watch an example of a video CV and note down their expectations about what will be different from a written CV.
- Ss watch example video CV
- T introduces notion of video CVs, difference to written CVs are discussed
- Ss watch the video again and note down characteristic features (content/language/visual) – (list comp gist: see worksheet)
- Ss watch the video a third time, listening for specific information and evaluating the persuasive qualities of the video (list comp detail, evaluation – see worksheet)
- Whole-class discussion of listening results
